My aunt was telling me the other day about her daughter’s, my cousin, flying squirrel infestation. The animals have apparently taken over their attic; also these little animals are a big fire hazard. They like to chew on electrical wires.
My cousin and her husband are about to be driven up the wall and yet, being very humane, they have been setting up traps in their attic instead of hiring a exterminator, then after catching the squirrels, they have been driving 30 minutes away from their house to release them. The squirrels are able to find the house again if they are too close, and will nest in the attic once more.
One day my cousin’s husband caught a squirrel and drove it to the spot they have been leaving the others, about 30 minutes away from their house. He released the little creature and it ran, now free in his natural habitat, then, it changed course and ran in front of an oncoming eighteen wheeler. And that was the end for our Rocky the flying squirrel.
I could not have made that up.

Fruit, Friday & Palin
(Some fruit I cut up before blending into a smoothie)
Well, it was another day at the office today. Except I only work half a day on Fridays. Yay! Also, there are no patients scheduled on Fridays, and I am there by myself and am able to get a lot done. And, of course, there is that whole beginning of the weekend thing to look forward to. (Happiness!)
I had never heard about this woman until this morning, but I am really liking what I hear and have read about Sarah Palin. She seems tough. I like that.

Rain and School
We got the remnants of the hurricane Faye last night. We got just a small piece compared to other counties close by. There was some bad flooding north and north east of us.
Well, I have started college, but I am still not sure of what I want to be when I grow up. I am excited though. It’s a new chapter in my life. I will be learning and growing. What is the saying? “If something isn’t changing, it’s dead”, or something like that. The school wants me to read this book called “Life Purpose Planning” to help me discovery what God’s purpose is for my life. So hopefully I will have some idea soon.

Mission Trip to Dalton, G.A.
Our church left for Dalton, G.A. Sunday the 13th. We had 19 people in our group. We all had a blast.
We worked with Rebuilding Hope Ministries and Habitat for Humanity. This couple let us (all 19 of us) stay at their house the whole week. The wife is a sister to the man who is head of Rebuilding Hope, and she and her husband let all the volunteer groups stay with them. They have a beautiful home that fit all of us.
We worked hard. And it was hot. We were split in different groups at different times but we got a lot of stuff done. We did yard work, painting, flooring, and plumbing for one widowed elderly lady. Built a deck for another lady. Re-did sheet rock in a bathroom ceiling, re-built drawers, painted, and put in a door for under this man's trailer. And put in new flooring for a family. And pulled weeds for the Habitat site. (A ton of weeds.) Whew! I'm tired just thinking about it.
Then down the road from the house we were staying at, neighbors let us go swimming in their very nice pool. Then we went to Chattanooga, T.N. Wednesday night.
Thursday we went to every work site and spoke to the people we had helped. And that night we had a great singing and worship service at the house. I loved it!

Here are some videos Jordan and i made of the last two Mission trips.

How Seniors Citizens Go Lingerie Shopping
The other day I was at JCPenney shopping. I saw two women pushing a elderly woman in a wheelchair. She was very thin and looked to be close to ninety years-old.
The other women pushed her up to the lingerie department and asked one of the ladies working "Where are 32-b bras?" The woman answered “We don't have many 32 sizes. Most of are bras that are 32 are more for teenagers. They are very colorful or have harts or poke-a-dots on them.”
One of the women with the elderly woman said “She would prefer a white bra”.
The worker looked around and found a few white bras. I saw on of them was white on the outside but had some pink stripes on the inside of the cups. The lingerie worker finally found some thing plain for the little lady. She said “I'll give it a try.”
Later when they were about to check out the old woman saw some bras in boxes and said, “I like these.” One of the ladies with her said “I think those only come in lager sizes.”
The little old lady looked up at her and asked “Like maternity?”
The woman answered, “No, just BIG. Like me.”, as she pointed to herself.
As they where leaving they went by the panties, and the woman pushing the chair picked up a colorful striped pair and said to the elderly lady, “I'm going to get you a pair like these, or like those that have a string up the back. Would you like one of those?”
The little old lady said, “I don't think I could handle that.”

Summertime
The first day of June. It's about 88 degrees outside. Summer is here. I hate the heat and yet I love it at the same time. I love it because it brings back memories. My brother's birthday is in June and mine is in July. (My dad called Jordy a June bug and me a July fly.) So I can remember birthday parties at pools and having water gun fights.
On the weekends the smell of the grill cooking and BBQ fills the air. And people have outdoor get-togethers in the evenings, hoping it will be cooler. But it still can feel hot, even at dark.
One of my favorite Holidays is the 4th of July. I love to watch fireworks.
And people will make homemade ice-cream. The first time I remember it being made felt like it took 3 hours, when it probably took about 40 minuets. But it tasted so sweet and cold. And good.
I love summertime.

Puppies & Voting
It's been forever since I've written anything. I know that is pitiful, but I'll try to do better.
My family is hopefully getting a puppy in the next couple of days. Her name is Molly and she is a beagle. I can't wait!
My grandmother got herself a yorkiepoo last week. His name is Charley.
Friday I did something I have never done before. I practiced my right to vote. That was pretty cool. I feel like one of the big kids now.
I remember realizing in 2004 that I would be able to vote in the next presidential election.
