My aunt was telling me the other day about her daughter’s, my cousin, flying squirrel infestation. The animals have apparently taken over their attic; also these little animals are a big fire hazard. They like to chew on electrical wires.
My cousin and her husband are about to be driven up the wall and yet, being very humane, they have been setting up traps in their attic instead of hiring a exterminator, then after catching the squirrels, they have been driving 30 minutes away from their house to release them. The squirrels are able to find the house again if they are too close, and will nest in the attic once more.
One day my cousin’s husband caught a squirrel and drove it to the spot they have been leaving the others, about 30 minutes away from their house. He released the little creature and it ran, now free in his natural habitat, then, it changed course and ran in front of an oncoming eighteen wheeler. And that was the end for our Rocky the flying squirrel.
I could not have made that up.
