Miracles Can Fit in a Shoe Box

Our church went to the Samaritan's Purse warehouse in Charlotte last night and helped prepare the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.

Last year, I think they said there were 1.8 million shoe boxes that went through that warehouse. This year they are estimating there will be 2.2 million shoe boxes.
This was my third year volunteering. And it has always been fun. It is amazing to see that many boxes about to head out and go to needy children all over the world. Some of these children have never received a gift in their whole lives.
This year we helped remove any items that can't go in the boxes, such as chocolate, breakables, war relative toys, liquids, etc. And we also got to add filler toys and candy for the boxes.
Once the boxes make it to their destination Samaritan's Purse will put a book called the greatest gift of all in the box that is in that child's language. The book has different Bible stories in it, and the plan of salvation.
It is amazing to see God work through this. I think this is one of the greatest ministries I have ever known of.
Here is their website.

Drought

I don't know if you have heard, but the south eastern part of the U.S is in a severe drought. And were I live, it is getting BAD. We are under very, very strict water restrictions. And there is no rain in the forecast for weeks.
The main part of the problem is not the lack of rain, all though it isn't helping in anyway, it is the fact that our county is growing so fast that our water system was not made to accommodate so many people.
But there are places that are a lot worse then we are.
I pray that we get some rain soon.

It's December!? Already?!

Well, I can't believe that November is gone, and now we are in December. I don't know why I am surprised at the end of every year at how fast it flew by. I heard people talking about how fast time flies my whole childhood, and stated to experience those feelings at the beginning of my teen years. You would think I would be used to it by now.
Plus, as usual, I have not started my Christmas shopping. I bought my brother a gift Sunday, and thought “Well, at least I got Jamison something for Christmas.” Then I remembered that his birthday is Monday the 10th. So this will be his birthday gift, I have yet to find a Christmas gift. It's hard to shop for you brother who will soon be 15.

There was a very pretty sunset this evening. So I took a picture.

I started to feel congested tonight. I hope I am not getting sick. I took some Zicam, so hopefully that will help me.
I hope you all have a great evening.
